The Formula 3 Scrutineering-Team

The main target of the Scrutineering-Team is the assurance of fair and regular competition in the racing events of the Series. The Team’s activities are focussed on establishing and maintaining equal chances for each of the participants in the event and in the same time assuring the security of participants and technical safety of racing vehicles and relevant equipment. To successfully meet such a target a particular habit of preventative work has already been cultivated with the racing teams for years. This is to ensure compliance with the technical and sporting rules and regulations in place. The racing vehicles have been receiving very exact and comprehensive testings and checkings by the Scrutineering Team, thus bringing into action its high degree of competence. However at the same time the Scrutineering Team has persistently been concentrating on the enforcement of the rules and regulations established to the end that none of the participants might enjoy from any benefit of alterations which may be achievable by contravening the rules in place. Furthermore the Scrutineering Team has been participating in the permanent process of developing and optimizing the technical rules to ensure a seamless survey on security and safety.throughout the events.
To cope with the high technical standards and to increasingly ensure the attractiveness of the racing series, a big volume of preparatory work has already to be done by the Scrutineering Team well in advance of an upcoming season:

1.	Participation in drafting updates of the technical rules
2.	Maintenance and improvement of the technical equipment used for checkings, testings and technical controls of the racing vehicles
3.	Cooperation with manufacturers of motor engines and cars to anticipate potential amendments to the rules and to maintain trustful conditions for the upcoming season
4.	Communication with the applicant racing teams
5.	Training and integration of new members into the Scrutineering Team
06.	Maintenance and optimization of the Scrutineering computer software

After season start additional tasks shall be taken up:

1.	Supervision of the official test journeys (Sealing and checking of the engines, checking of the sets of tires, of exhaust pipes etc.)
2.	Tire lottery and registration
3.	Safety checks of the vehicles as well as of the driver’s equipment (helmet, suit)
4.	Set up on the spot of technical approval station and of the mobile laboratory
5.	Supervision of the racing vehicles in compliance with the rules and regulastions in place thruoghout the event
6.	Checkings and testings of gasolines and tires used in all racing series taking part in the particular event
7.	Organization and supervision of the Parc-Fermé
8.	Maintenance and repair of own equipment
9.	Reporting of each technical controlling action performed
10.	Response at legal court on approved judge decisions (if necessary)

During preparation phase the Scrutineering Team is made up by three technical members. During the season the team is going to be strengthened by two additional French technicians.
